Jazz dance is of Black American origin characterized by improvisation, syncopation, and usually a regular or forceful rhythm. Brass and woodwind instruments and piano are particularly associated with jazz music, although guitar and occasionally violin are also used; movement styles include Dixieland, swing, bebop, and free jazz.

In this course, the student will be encouraged to focus on technique, posture, and style in their movement. Similar to hip-hop but not quite the same; jazz dance exudes soul and amusement with quick and light movement.

Baby Jazz is a jazz class for our youngest students, ages 2-5 years.
